2002 Bourgogne Rouge Robert Arnoux.
Medium cherry red colour, delicate spicy smoky nose. Has some nice richness and earthiness. Elegant and cool. Maybe a little short and weak and this has probably seen better days. Good for what it is. 13/20

2002 Bourgogne Rouge Domaine D'Angerville.
Colour is a little lighter than the Arnoux but the nose reveals more perfume and red fruits. Good length and nice acid. A delicate Pinot Noir. Good. 14/20

2004 Morey-St-Denis Domaine Pierre Amiot.
Pure red cherry colour, gentle perfume red fruit aromas, palate is clean, elegant and nicely balanced showing good purity and weight. Enjoyable. 15/20

2004 Morey-St-Denis Domaine Guy Castagnier.
Similar in overall style to the previous wine but more berries and violets. Maybe a little leaner but with more length. 15.5/20

2004 Beaune Cente Vignes Domaine Albert Morot.
Colour is quite intense, nose reveals more sweetness of red fruits than previous. Richness and texture on a very long palate. Classy. 16/20

2004 Gevrey Chambertin Les Cherbaudes Domaine Fourrier.
Nose is very smoky and oaky, walks on the edge of being too oaky. Palate has great weight and texture - classic Gevrey. Very much a Fourrier style. After much coaxing in the glass the fruit and oak start to integrate. Certainly one for the cellar. 16.5/20

2004 Morey-St-Denis Les Ruchots Domaine Pierre Amiot.
Hints of a tiny amount of brett on the nose, spicy and very complex with hints of asian spices, aniseed, soy and minerals. This is good and needs time. 16.5/20

2004 Bourgogne Rouge Domaine Leroy.
This is the wine with declassified 1er Cru and Grand Cru components. Nice shows the typical signs of Leroy, smoke, spice and leather in adundance. Colour is surprisingly quite pale and showing signs of brown on the edges. Very enjoyable now and I can see why this was declassified. A nice wine but no more. 17/20.

2004 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots Domaine Cacheux.
Nose is quite closed but shows some red fruits and some spicy oak. Colour is quite deep. Palate has some fruit and weight but very very tight and not revealing much. Needs a lot of time. 16.5/20

2004 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots Domaine Robert Arnoux.
Colour is very dark, nose just leaps out of the glass, sour cherries, spices, oak, hints of forest. Palate is huge with massive weight and concentration. Texture and intensity. Very very special. 18.5/20.
